About uS

Lighthouse Christian Academy began as the result of prayerful, earnest seeking by a group of parents and pastors desiring to establish an educational institution that would teach a systematic Biblical worldview to their children and the community. After researching multiple educational philosophies, the decision was made to adopt the methods of Classical Christian education.

Under the sponsorship of Island Alliance Church in Stevensville,  LCA opened its doors in September of 2001. For the first 10 years, Island Alliance served as the location for the school campus. During these years, faithful commitment by the families, faculty, and administration established the foundation for student development and community impact.

The fall of the 2011 marked a pivotal point in Lighthouse’s history. After a season of prayer, preparations began for the relocation to a new campus to ensure the continuation of stable and positive growth. The morning of September 4, 2012, Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church became the new home for Lighthouse Christian Academy.

From this new location, LCA continues to offer an extraordinary Christian education that engages students’ minds, spirits, and creativity.

Our mission

In partnership with parents and families, we equip students to think clearly and listen carefully with discernment and understanding while embracing a Biblical worldview. By using a joyful Classical approach, our students reason and articulate with clarity, creativity, and conviction.

Lighthouse Christian Academy is part of a growing movement of Classical Christian schools who are seeking to reform education in America. Lighthouse is a member in good standing of the Association of Classical Christian Schools and the Society for Classical Learning.

our vision

We aim to educate young men and women who think clearly and listen carefully with discernment and understanding; who reason persuasively and articulate precisely; who are capable of evaluating their entire range of experience in the light of the Scriptures; and who do so with eagerness in joyful submission to God.

  • We desire them to recognize cultural influences as distinct from Biblical truth.
  • We aim to find them well-prepared in all situations, possessing both knowledge and the wisdom to use it.
  • We desire they be socially graceful and spiritually gracious, equipped with and understanding the tools of learning; desiring to grow in understanding, yet fully realizing the limitations and foolishness of the wisdom of this world.
  • We desire they have a heart for the lost and courage to seek to dissuade those who are stumbling toward destruction; that they distinguish real religion from religion in form only and that they possess the former, knowing and loving the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • All of these we desire our students to possess with humility and gratitude to God.
