Lighthouse Christian Academy is a growing community of 133 students and 28 faculty members situated on 14 acres of our host church, Safe Harbor Presbyterian, located on Kent Island on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.  Lighthouse offers a wonder-filled, Christ-centered PreK-8 Classical education that is rooted in the pursuit of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful, seeking to shape the next generation toward kingdom living in this world.

We offer continuing education opportunities for staff and faculty, and generous enrollment incentives for applicants who also wish to enroll their children at Lighthouse Christian Academy.

The Humanities Teacher will lead students in the integrated study of literature, history, and writing within the classical tradition. This role emphasizes discussion, critical thinking, and the development of eloquent expression. Candidates should be well-read, articulate, and passionate about forming students in truth, goodness, and beauty through great books and historical study.

Lighthouse seeks a mature Christian woman to disciple and instruct middle school girls in Scripture. This role focuses on guiding students in biblical understanding, spiritual growth, and Christlike character. The ideal candidate will model a strong personal faith, foster meaningful discussion, and shepherd students with wisdom and care.


5th - 8th Grade Math (Saxon Math)

The Math Teacher will provide clear, structured instruction using the Saxon Math curriculum for grades 5–8. This role emphasizes mastery through incremental development, consistent practice, and strong foundational skills. Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate mathematical concepts effectively while supporting students with varying levels of ability.


5th - 8th Grade Science

The Science Teacher will lead students in exploring God’s creation through observation, inquiry, and foundational scientific principles. Instruction should reflect a classical approach, encouraging wonder, careful study, and thoughtful engagement with the natural world. Candidates should be knowledgeable, engaging, and committed to integrating faith and learning in the sciences.

Junior Kindergarten Co-Lead Teacher

Lighthouse Christian Academy seeks a joyful and nurturing Junior Kindergarten Co-Lead Teacher to partner in guiding young learners in a Christ-centered, classical environment. This role will share responsibility for planning and instruction alongside another co-lead teacher, with the intention of transitioning into a full Lead Teacher position supported by an assistant within two years. Candidates should demonstrate a love for early childhood education, an understanding of classical pedagogy, and a desire to cultivate wonder, order, and foundational habits in students.
