Lacy Wendell.
Upper School Literature. Common Arts. Seventh Grade Science.

Ms. Wendell hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and – apart from a few summers and some time abroad – has lived there all her life. She studied medicine for two years and French and humanities for two years, receiving her bachelor’s degree in French from Louisiana State University. After graduating, she spent a year living and working as a nanny of three young children in France. This experience greatly affirmed her already-present desires to teach and learn. As a nanny, she often filled the role of ‘educator,’ and as a foreigner, the role of ‘student.’ She has experience teaching fifth-grade humanities and science, as well as twelfth-grade writing, at a Christian classical school in Baton Rouge. She simultaneously worked on a small organic produce farm. She enjoys morning walks, hiking, biking, reading, singing, and gardening. In addition to teaching at LCA, she is currently pursuing a Masters of Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Annapolis.

We are thrilled Ms. Wendell is joining the team this fall teaching Common Arts, Seventh and Eighth Grade Literature, and Seventh Grade Science.
