Meg Grossman.
Interim Head of School.
Meg has been part of our LCA family for six years, first as a parent, then as a volleyball coach, and this past year as our Science and Assistant Teacher for 3rd and 4th grades. She has also coached our girls' volleyball team, and together with her family, has worshipped alongside many of us at Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church. Anyone who spent time in her science classroom last year knows her passion for God's creation inspires a deep wonder in her students!
While Meg won't be teaching science this year, that same heart for wonder, discovery, and truth will now be poured into caring for our whole school community. Meg brings a rare combination of relational warmth and organizational strength: she genuinely knows and loves people, and she also has the structure and tenacity to lead well.
Her professional background gives her deep, relevant experience for this role. Meg spent 15 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist with Anne Arundel County Public Schools, where she developed and trained SLPs in the county on a user-friendly data program. This practice was a sweet blending of her technical skill and supportive leadership which she used to equip and empower others. She also owned and operated her own private practice, We Are Speech Language Learning, P.A., for several years collaborating with parents, school staff, and special education teams to assess and support students. She holds a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Loyola College and a Bachelor of Science from Penn State University, where she was also a Division I student-athlete. More recently, she completed coursework toward Charlotte Mason certification, deepening her knowledge of Christian educational pedagogy.
In Meg's own words: "My heart is to serve and love the students and teachers of LCA, uniting us in mindset and in work (Colossians 3:17). I love this school and have prayed for a thriving, Christ-centered school for many years. I am honored and humbled to serve in this capacity and to come alongside teachers, students, and their families. Teaching at LCA has been so life-giving for me, and being surrounded by an incredible staff while teaching about God's amazing creation is such a gift."
As she steps into this season, Meg is holding onto these words of Scripture:
"He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." (Colossians 1:17)
"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience... And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony... And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:12–17)
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:6–7)
